Cerritos City Council: Have they lost their minds? Fix the gopher holes, and our torn up streets and potholes, not the problems in Korea

Cerritos, Ca, USA

Pot Holes are running wild on the Eastside...
Okay.  Enough is enough.  I am watching MY Cerritos City Council on the tube, and I have been "forced" to head to my keyboard.

This blog posting isn't going to be "pretty."

Tonight the Cerritos City Council spent a huge amount of time dealing with the problems of Korea by passing a totally useless "resolution" that now officially places the City of Cerritos on record in support of the "Korea-US Free Trade Agreement." Are you kidding me?

Why are we spending one minute dealing with the Korea-US Free Trade Agreement?  Actually this is the second meeting in a row that this issue has been brought up in public.  Staff time was spent for two weeks preparing for a half hour presentation tonight at the Council meeting.  Does anyone in Washington care about with the Cerritos City Council think about our position on KORUS-FTA?

I want the Cerritos City Council to fix our crappy streets over here on the Eastside, and to do something about our horrific "gopher infestation" on Stowers and 183rd over at Concordia Lutheran Church.  I want the Cerritos City Council to do something about the gang problems and the crime situation. One of my friends had three men stick a gun in his face two nights ago over at the Albertson's Supermarket on Artesia Boulevard.  Not one word was mentioned about this and other crimes here in Cerritos. Scary, ain't it.  The Cerritos City Council cares more about being attending meeting with "SCAG" (Southern California Association of Governments) and the "COG" (Council on Governments), and the League of California Cities, and the Mag Lev Train/Orange Line Consortium, and attending conferences in Denver and Washington, and heading to parties in Sacramento.  Come on.  Enough.

Stop the madness.  Get to work on solving the REAL problems IN CERRITOS!  Start over here in the "Gopher Flats Section" of our hood.

Election in Cerritos is in four months.  The People are watching, and I got my "one eye" peeled like a laser.

Finally independent web site, for the residents and not for the city council/
http://cerritos.patch.com/

Very sad nite At CCC, 12/09/10; when the city has to award for participation military programs, as many residents for political or religious beliefs, can not watch nor participate in the council meetings. By adopting this military NPO, city has locked out a good share of its residents from participating in local government. This must stop.

City is about city government and must not get involved in world affairs such as Korea. Don’t see Germany’s Mercedes Benz, running to the council for pre approval; or England’s Rolls Royce kissing up to Cerritos Council, or Scotland selling sweaters to the council or the Pope pandling religion to CCC, as city does not have a temple nor a catholic church. These favorites must stop, as bring the council in to reality with our residents and out of foreign affairs.

Amazing, no money to trim city trees, but some of our council can travel to Denver, on taxpayer’s dime, to smooge w/ national figures.

$1.9M dollars on judgment against the city in the first 6mths…..My god, how many times will this grow, over the next 6 month increments?

The accounting firm must be investigated for non- diversity & using public money……..2nd appearance by Asian in last 2 yrs. How about an African American Accountant, Transgendered Person Accountant, Handicap Leopard Accountant??? Many other accounts in the world, besides Asian Accountant.

Total CCC nite, counted 2 blonds on TV Monitor during the CCC, and over 125 Black Haired persons and no red heads!!! What happened to diversity?

Ending of the meeting, Mayor Cho’s Political Speech, was way toooo slanted towards Korean, as reminded me of watching old M.A.S.H. MOVIES, taped in Hollywood, for Vietnam War, Excluded:
1. Remembrance of 911
2. Remembrance of Katrina
3. Remembrance of Haiti earthquake
4. Remembrance of Worlds Aid Day
5. Excessive World Wide Unemployment rates

Anonymous, you just don't understand diversity; it is not for those people that you cited. City government is supposed to be about the residents in that City without regard for their ethnic background, doesn't Cerritos have a sister city; it's not a City in Greece is it. That is why I am not an ethnic American; only an American! Loyalty to this country only! I have been told by foreigners that my parents were stupid for not teaching me the language of my grandparents; talk about stupidity. What the hell do they think established my culture; if not my place of birth. My ancestors came from a county that is predominantly Catholic, when a co-worker with the same ethnic background as mine found out that I was not Catholic he said to me, what are you a God dammed Jew, I replied if I was, I would kick your ass. He bragged to me that he he had an audience with the Pope thinking that I would be impressed, these are only a few examples. Divided loyalties based on race, religion, ethnicity, or political interests weakens the
country.

Diversity is outlined in both the city of Cerritos CHARTER and state OF CALIFORNIA constitution, as rite of diversity is protected. Diversity has to be blind to all factors and not favor any one of anything, including the Military and the Koreans.

Cerritos has 3 non formalized, international sister cities: Mexico and Asia, as non of the cities have been recognized by the UN Agency nor the International Laws. Read about the origin of sister cities, "big brother government", to help less fortunate cities in the USA and not abroad.
