Cerritos, CA

Okay.  Here's the deal.  You need to get over to the Los Cerritos Center on Thursday to help ABC 7 and Weatherman Garth Kemp "stuff that bus" full of toys for the kids...

Every needy child HAS to have a wonderful holiday season, and tomorrow I plan to do my small part, and I want ALL of my READERS TO HELP turn this day into a "movement of giving!"

ABC7 wants to invite everyone to help kick off the "2010 Spark of Love Toy Drive."  The first stop is here, in our hood....at the Los Cerritos Center, Thursday, November 18, from 5 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In case you are clueless, or reading this from outside our "tony enclave,"  the Los Cerritos Center is off the 605 Freeway, at South Street. LOOK for the "SPARK OF LOVE BUS" near MACY located at the South Street and Gridley Road intersection!  You can take the 605 Freeway to the South Street Exit to the Los Cerritos Center.

Here is whatcha gotta do....

GARTH KEMP: Heading to the Hood of Cerritos!
Bring a new, unwrapped toy or sports equipment and come out and meet Santa's #1 Elf...Garth Kemp.  He will be there all day, taking our donations for the Spark of Love Toy Drive.  Bring something cool for the kids.  No used toys.  Make an effort people!

How to Donate
You can also donate online with a credit card through the California Community Foundation (CCF). All proceeds will go to buying toys or sports equipment for the children.

And starting Friday, November 19, you can also drop off your new, unwrapped toys or sports equipment at your local Fire Station or CVS/pharmacy.

For 18 years, ABC7 and firefighters from Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, along with the Los Angeles City Fire Department, have joined forces to run the "Spark of Love Toy Drive". This campaign collects new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment for the under served children in our communities. Toys collected in the respective counties are distributed locally. Last year alone, "Spark of Love" collected over 500,000 toys within all five counties and we want to top that total this year, so please help the fire fighter's ignite a spark of love in a child's heart.

Thanks, ABC 7 and GARTH for making the world around us a little brighter!
