Cerritos--

Can you say wild ride on election day?  Yep, this campaign day of days has seen it all, including a wild chase that captivated television news crews this morning.

A high speed pursuit of a driver of a stolen SUV taken from North Long Beach on election day Tuesday led Long Beach and Los Angeles police officers all over our part of Los Angeles County and ended here at Del Amo and Bloomfield.

The chase began in North Long Beach at Morningside Street and Long Beach Boulevard at about 10:03 a.m.

A woman in a stolen Ford Explorer embarked on a dangerous high speed run that saw her driving in oncoming traffic lanes and speeding through red lights and other traffic stops.  She ended up hitting several cars before her rampage finally ended here in Cerritos.

The chase went through Long Beach, Compton, South Los Angeles, South Gate, Lynwood and finally ending in Cerritos.

The driver, an unidentified woman, finally lost control of the Explorer at about 10:50 a.m. after a wheel broke off the vehicle and the SUV spun to a halt at Bloomfield Avenue and Del Amo Boulevard in Cerritos.  Did you see this?  Let me know.
