Whittier: Funeral plans have been finalized for the Hernandez children of East Whittier were killed two weeks ago in that horrific crash on the 5 Freeway in the Newhall Pass.

The Rosary Mass will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 28th, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7215 Newlin Ave. in Whittier.

One of those being remembered, Cynthia Hernandez, age 9, was to take her First Communion next month at this Church.

The other Hernandez children that were killed were Edgar, age 8, who was in second grade, Xochitl their 5-year-old sister and Luis Villegas their 12-year-old cousin.

The Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption.

Burials for the children will follow immediately at Rose Hills Memorial Park and Mortuary, at 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier.

This will be an emotional, and rough week for the entire community, family and friends of this family.
