Los Angeles, CA
We have all seen these video clips of crazy guys running around holding up liquor stores all over Southern California, but this one really caught my one eye tonight.
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for help to identify and catch a couple serial robbery suspects who are sticking up pedestrians, two markets and attempted to rob a third market at gunpoint.
These guys are nuts. So be careful if you run into him. Here is what they look like:
The primary suspect is described as a male Hispanic, black hair, brown eyes, 19-21 years old, 5 4 to 5 5 tall, 125-155 pounds, with a goatee. The clothing was consistent in all the crimes, a dark blue or black beanie, sunglasses, white Raiders sweatshirt with black trim, blue jeans and white shoes. (these guys ALWAYS seem to wear Raider sweatshirts. What's up with that? Anyway...
The second suspect, seen only at the Redondo Beach attempt robbery, was described as a male Hispanic, brown hair, 58 tall, 160 pounds, with a thin build. The possible vehicle was the blue Dodge pickup truck.
On March 21, 2010, at around 4:00 p.m., a suspect entered a liquor store located in the 400 block of South Pacific Coast Highway in Redondo Beach. He brandished a handgun and demanded money, but did not receive any cash. After the attempted robbery, a second possible suspect was seen, driving a blue Dodge pickup truck away from the liquor store.
On the same day, at around 4:50 p.m., two women were walking in the area of 34th Street and Palm Drive in Hermosa Beach. The suspect, matching the same description, pointed a handgun at the women and robbed them of an undisclosed amount of money.
Later that evening, at around 7:30 p.m., the same suspect travelled north to Los Angeles, and committed a robbery at gunpoint at a local market, located in the 1200 block of Bellevue Avenue.
The final robbery occurred at 8:10 p.m. at another neighborhood market, located in the 3900 block of Figueroa Street, in the Highland Park area.
The LAPD Rampart Detective Division is working in collaboration with the Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach Police Departments on this investigation.
Anyone with information regarding these investigations is urged to call Rampart robbery detectives at 213-484-3627. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crimestoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) using a cell phone. All text messages should begin with the letters LAPD.
