LOS ANGELES – A 42-year-old high school teacher accused of engaging in sexual relationships with two students is expected to be arraigned today, the District Attorney’s Office announced.
Deputy District Attorney Hyunah Suh of the Sex Crimes Division said Gabriela Cortez (dob 08/29/69) is charged in case No. BA395309 with six felony counts of unlawful sexual intercourse.
Cortez is scheduled to be arraigned in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
The alleged offenses took place between January 2009 and November 2010 primarily in the defendant’s home when the male victims – now adults – were ages 16 and 17, the prosecutor said.
