ALFREDO CAMPOS, JR: Suspect Arrested for Murder in Pico Rivera Hit and Run

Los Angeles County Sheriff's DepartmentImage via Wikipedia Homicide Investigators from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department are continuing their investigation into the hit and run death of a 38-year old man in Pico Rivera.  Deputies arrested Alfredo Campos, Jr., a 38 year-old male resident of Rancho Cucamonga, for murder following this incident. 
A deputy assigned to the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station was on patrol in the area of Passons Boulevard north of Telegraph Road, Pico Rivera, just as the event happened at 1:19am Sunday. Witnesses directed the deputy's attention to the suspect, who was fleeing the scene, and the deputy followed the suspect while requesting paramedics to respond to help the victim. 
Pico Rivera sheriff's deputies stopped the car at Slauson Avenue and Boer Street in the unincorporated county area of Whittier and detained Campos, who was then identified by witnesses as the suspect. 
Sheriff's Homicide investigators learned Suspect Campos and the victim were involved in an altercation at a nearby location. According to witnesses, immediately following the altercation, Campos got into his vehicle and purposely ran over the victim while he was in the street. 
The victim suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department
