Michelle Fournier: Fundraiser planned to support son of slain mother from Seal Beach attack

A fundraiser will be held for Dominic, the 8-year old son of Michelle Fournier, who was killed in a shooting at Salon Meritage in Seal Beach October 12. The event will take place on Saturday, November 5 from 2pm to 6pm at Tracy’s Bar and Grill, 5511 E. Spring St. in Long Beach. For a $5 donation, attendees will enjoy hors d'oeuvres and entrees provided by Jill’s Gourmet to Casual Catering, and live music by MO50. Businesses and members of the community are encouraged to donate items for door prizes and a silent auction to be held at the event. Full menu and full bar are also available.
Sharlene Glover, one of the event’s organizers, has known Michelle’s family for nearly 15 years. “I grew up around the corner from Chelsea and Chad. We even walked to school together. When I found out what happened, I knew I had to do something to help them out.”
“My mother was a beautiful loving mother of three and she would have been so grateful for all the things people have done for her family and her children”, said Chelsea Huff, who is Dominic’s sister. She is also his legal guardian and is petitioning for full custody. “I am personally overwhelmed with gratitude for people like Sharlene who have gone out of their way to help our family and my little brother.”
100% of all donations for food, door prizes, and auction items will be deposited into the Michelle Fournier Memorial Trust, which will benefit Michelle’s children. Donations may be made directly to the Trust account at 801 Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach, CA 90740. A PayPal account has been established for people out of the area who have expressed interest in helping Dominic, but cannot attend. The PayPal link can be found on the Dollars for Dominic Facebook page.
For information regarding donations, contact Melissa at dollars4dominic@gmail.com, or Sharlene at 562.355.9867.
