LOS ANGELES – A suspected drunken driver who allegedly ran a red light on New Year’s Eve and crashed into another car, killing a husband and wife, was charged today with two counts of murder. Jorge Alberto Molina, 27 (dob 3-2-83), also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident in case BA379595, said Deputy District Attorney Kaarin Axelsen. Molina will not be arraigned today because he remained hospitalized for an unrelated condition. An arraignment time will be announced later. The Culver City man allegedly led police on a brief chase before running a red light near Florence Avenue and Crenshaw Boulevard about 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 31. His vehicle slammed into a blue Infinity, which flipped on its roof. The driver of the Infinity, Demetria Dorsey, and her husband, Kelvin, were both killed. Molina allegedly got out of his car and tried to run away before officers arrested him. Prosecutors will ask that bail be set at $2 million. If convicted, he faces 30 years to life in prison.
