Jackkqueline (CQ) Pogue arraigned in pushing death of Betty Sugiyama on the Metro Gold Line. Faces Life in prison.

A female transient suspected of pushing an 84-year-old woman to her death off a Metro Gold Line platform on Sunday was charged today with one count of murder.

Jackkqueline (CQ) Pogue, 44 (dob 3-19-66), is scheduled to be arraigned sometime after 1:30 p.m. at the Foltz Criminal Justice Center, Department 30. She is charged in case BA378125 and is being held on $1 million bail.

The victim, Betty Sugiyama, and her sister were walking on the platform about 8:30 a.m. Sunday at 200 N. Alameda St. Pogue allegedly stood up and pushed Sugiyama off the platform and onto the tracks.

Officials said Sugiyama hit her head on the tracks and never regained consciousness. She was later pronounced dead.

If convicted, Pogue faces up to life in prison.
