Azusa man is expected to be sentenced to two years in state prison after pleading guilty to stealing a 1988
World Series ring belonging to former Dodger Jimmy Campanis along with other high-end jewelry at area
golf courses. Frank Jose Carrillo, 40, is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 17 at Pomona Superior Court, Department F, said

pleaded guilty on Dec. 13 to all six counts, including three counts of grand theft of personal property, one count of
receiving stolen property and two counts of second-degree commercial burglary. Campanis reported that his championship ring was stolen Nov. 15 while he was participating in a charity golf event in
Chino Hills. Carrillo was arrested two days later by
La Verne Police officers following an investigation. Police recovered the championship ring along with numerous
Rolex watches, wallets and other items while executing a search warrant at Carrillo’s home. Carrillo admitted stealing the items from golf bags and golf carts between June 2009 and November 2010.
