POMONA – An Azusa man suspected of stealing jewelry, including a 1988 World Series ring belonging to former Dodger Jimmy Campanis, was charged on Friday with multiple counts of grand theft.

Frank Jose Carrillo, 40 (dob 10-25-70), was arraigned at Pomona Superior Court, Department F. He is charged in case KA092592 with three counts of grand theft of personal property, one count of receiving stolen property, and two counts of second-degree commercial burglary. Prosecutors will ask that bail be set at $341,000.

Campanis reported that his championship ring was stolen on Monday in while he was participating in a charity golf event in Chino Hills. Carrillo was arrested on Wednesday by La Verne Police officers following an investigation.

Carrillo is suspected of stealing numerous Rolex watches, wallets and other items from golf bags and golf carts beginning in June 2009.
