I found these video clips of Jesse, doing what he loved best..... Here he is seen competing in the 149 pound weight class finals of the 2009 Junior College Southern Regional wrestling tournament. He faced Jose Navarro of Santa Ana College.

Grief counselors are on the Rio Hondo College campus today talking to friends, faculty and team mates of Jesus "Jesse" Cruz, the standout athlete and wrestler who died suddenly during a match this weekend at Mt. San Antonio Community College.
A note on You Tube stated that : "Jesse Cruz tragically passed away today while doing the sport he loved. Our condolences, hearts, and prayers go out to you, your family, and your team."
Seen: Jesse Cruz in the quarter finals match of the 2009 Santa Ana College wrestling tournamen against Jose Navarro (Santa Ana College.
His death is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, but it appears that Cruz died from "natural causes" during a match with a local Cerritos College wrestler. Jesse was only 20 years old. As soon as funeral arrangements are announced, I will post them here for the community.

Does anyone know if Jesse had epilepsy? The QB that recently died suddenly is thought to have died from SUDEP. Heart goes out to these families.
he was my cousin... he didnt have epilepsy... it was a tremendous shock to everyone in my family.. because he was SO healthy

Thank you for your article, it has been close to 19 months since Jesse left us and there is a big void in hearts and our home. But Jesse continues to live thru his family, many friends and others who have heard of him. To date there have been 4 scholarships awarded in Jesse's memory. Two have been Rio Hondo wrestlers(2011/2012) ans two Northview wrestlers(2011 male and female). There is a new account number for the Jesse N. Cruz Memorial Fund, but it is still at Wells Fargo. Jesse and Jose wrestled a few times, and they were always good matches with Jose coming out on top.
