What is going on with these bank robberies all over our neighborhood lately....especially at this local branch of the "Bank of the West" located off the 5 Freeway in La Mirada...?
Here is the latest details from a series of crimes that are hitting banks left and right....
A man robbed the "Bank of the West" at Valley View Boulevard and Imperial Highway, La Mirada, on Tuesday, September 14, at 3:02PM.
He has been dubbed the "Bubble Wrap Bandit" by the FBI. He presented a note demanding money and said he had a gun. He left the bank with an unspecified amount of U.S. currency, and was last seen driving away in a red sedan.
The bank robber is described as a Male Hispanic or Samoan, 35-40 years old, 5' 10" - 6'00" tall, and 200-240 pounds. The suspect is also related to three other bank robberies in the area. Two banks were robbed in Bell Gardens (Nov. 25, 2009 and June 14, 2010), and one in South Gate (July 22, 2010).
