Jordyn Weiber tossed out of All-Around Gymnastics Final due to an idiotic "two-per country" rule; Give me a break

My HEART goes out to Jordyn Weiber tonight..

Because of a stupid "two-per country rule" (each team in the Olympics can only advance two athletes to the All-Around competition in Gymnastics) one of the GREATEST athletes in the Summer Olympics has been denied the opportunity to make her GOLD MEDAL dreams COME TRUE in the ALL AROUND Gymnastics competition

Wait a minute. More screwy rules for the Olympics. Jordyn won the right to be in the FINALS, but a horrific rule has left her in tears.

Why do we ALLOW this to take place in our WORLD OLYMPICS.  This makes NO sense.

USA Golden Gals "In Waiting" Aly Raisman and Gabby Douglas are both in the OVERALL FINALS, and Jordan can only watch helplessly.

Just over two tenths of a point separated Wieber from Douglas, the second qualifier.  Confused.  Just watch NBC and see for yourself what takes place.

What do you think? Did JORDYN get ROBBED?

Does this rule need to be axed?  Why do we RECOGNIZE THESE RULES as BEING OUT OF TOUCH with REALITY.  What lessons are we teaching all of our future athletes?

HIT MY COMMENT SECTION BELOW and TELL me WHERE YOU ARE READING my BLOG.  Did Jordyn get robbed??

Unbelievable! My heart breaks for Jordyn, These rules don't make any sense!

Why should anyone aspire to go to the Olympics when this "kindergarten rule" discourages the the life long, well deserved recognition for being the best of the best.

The olympics to supposed to encompass the best athletes of the world, NOT "the best athletes of each country". That being said, they should take the top 24 regardless of which country they are competing for. It's a dam shame after all of her hard work and dedication that she is not able to compete for the gold in all around. I hope she comes back for team finals and demolishes the other countries. The USA team is amazing!

It's only stupid because Jordan didn't make it. Had she made it you wouldn't be whining. 2 best made it wake up!!!

To the person who recently commented--you may have a point that if Jordyn had made it to the finals, there probably wouldn't be as great of a commotion. However, Jordyn Weiber was the World's All Around Champion. Everyone knows she has the POTENTIAL to achieve gold! Just because of a few minor errors in her routines, she was clearly underscored.

The fact is, in all competitions, athletic or not, the top 24 competitors, regardless of which country they are from, should move on to the finals. This elementary rule trying to set an unprecedented example is RIDICULOUS! The best of the best IN THE WORLD wouldn't have the chance to compete all together because of a single rule.

The judges were bias. Compare floor excersises, and anyone can see who had the bigger flaws. This is such bull! The judges should have to explain this shitty scoreing. I'm sick over this for Jordyn. This will haunt her. SHE IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No need to say more.

You need to open your eyes fool! She is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately her teammates out scored her, thats the way it goes, not always the BEST athlete wins, If she didnt have those little miss steps on landing ect, it would have been hers,Just because your the AA american champion doesent mean its a given your in the finals, no different if she had a fall !!!

Been a private gymnastics coach for years, countless times my best gymnast was not the one on the podium !!! She wasnt good enough on this day to get in

So, the All Around Finals really ARE NOT going to be the all around best. She is being completely robbed.

I believe this rule is fair as can be. Sure we make a big deal when the problem regards us but when it doesn't then we woulds say it's not a big deal. This rule is in place so every country who participates get a chance to win a medal. Even though she is completely robbed of a medal, i think the other countries would be very upset including us if one country wins all 3 all-around medal.

I agree, this rule is out of touch with reality. Jordyn got robbed.

Your pinky, however, is in touch with caps lock a little too often. Rein it in, buddy.

I completely agree! Jordyns floor routine should've been scores higher than Douglas; how made bigger mistakes!

This rule essentially penalizes athletes from countries with the best gymnastics programs, and should be overturned. How is it in the spirit of the Olympic games to have athletes NOT compete against the best? This is like some twisted form of affirmative action for countries with crappy gymnastics programs.

I consider all 5 of those girls as being the best! Sorry but could u be happy for gabby and ali? Geeze people this wasn't a one girl show! I'm sad for jordan too and she deserves to be there, but unfortunately the other 2 girls did better. And that stupid rule needs to be thrown out, its ridiculous and pisses me off!

Actually, I would not be upset if one country swept the podium. It would just indicate that the best three won. This rule actually affects good girls from other countries as well. You will not be seeing the best 24 girls in the All Around. I too have coached gymnastics for 23 years. The rule is insane. I want to see the best 24 compete against each other. What would you say if they did this in swimming?? It's a joke. It lessens the meaning of winning gold or silver or bronze because you truly did not face all of the best there. No one with a lick of sense would think this rule is fair. This is about competition. Go play on a recreational upward team if you want it this way. I am disgusted that I won't see the best 24 tonight.

Rules are rules...

The rules need to changed ! It is absolutely ridiculous! The top 24 should get to compete no matter what country they are from.

Of course it was grossly unfair to eliminate Jordan and the scoring was so blatantly biased on her floor performance especially When Gabby stepped out of bounds worse and was penalized less. And what a cruel rule to limit to two instead of permitting the best to compete as a previous commentator stated. Jordan was cheated and it was cruel because she most likely won't be able to compete in Rio. Gymnastics sport be becomes far more difficult than any other sport to continue as the body changes. The body's growth and development work against the competitor as they age.
She got screwed royally. Jordy you are the best! We love and respect you and thank you for representing us in the USA.
