TEEN MURDERED NEAR NORWALK HIGH SCHOOL; ONE OTHER LISTED IN CRITICAL CONDITION.

One person "of interest" has been "detained," and is being questioned by law enforcement.  Another suspect remains at large.
9:56 p.m.
Sources tell Los Cerritos Community News that an unidentified car approached a group of students walking home from Norwalk High School when they "jumped out of car, coming up from behind the victims, an argument erupted that erupted into a knife fight."  Suspects fled the scene in a unknown vehicle.

An afternoon high school fight between students from Norwalk High School has left a 16 year old boy dead, another wounded.
According to Norwalk Sheriff's Watch Commander Mike Mendoza, an argument between a group of students Friday afternoon at around 3:30 quickly turned into a fight, that involved knives.
When Deputies from the Norwalk station arrived at the 14000 block of Harvest Avenue in a busy Norwalk neighborhood, they found two victims, described at this time as two juvenile male Hispanics
Mendoza told Los Cerritos Community News said that one of the victims was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, and the second male juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment where his condition is not been released as of 9 p.m. Friday night.

The name of the deceased boy has not been made public.
The neighborhood where this murder took place is considered to be one of the safest parts of Norwalk, and is located near Norwalk High School, several community churches, a middle school and hundreds of well kept homes.

I heard that the two victims were literally attacked...like being "jumped" and that there was a lot of screaming and that the guys who did it got back in there car and got away like a bat out of hell. I live on Longworth. Place is normally pretty chill.

I heard all the students screaming right after it took place. I am so so sad. RIP.
