A dead body was found early Wednesday morning in a parking lot located at Moody and Orangethorpe on the Cerritos La Palma border.
Law enforcement has opened an investigation.
According to long time Cerritos resident Marshall Butt, who lives at Bigelow and Carmenita, less than 100 feet from where the body was located, he was woken up by his wife who heard “a crackling sound, and a horrific smell.”
