Riverside, CA
I wanted to post this for all my readers, and for everyone in our community.
I was touched to hear about the tragic news of Riverside Police Officer Ryan Bonaminio, who was tragically slain around 3 weeks ago after a routine traffic stop near Freemont Park.
Thanks to the generosity of businessmen Ralph and Larry Cimmarusti. I want everyone to attend this special fundraiser, and have a great meal at the Roadhouse Grill!
ORIGINAL ROADHOUSE GRILL TO HOST FUNDRAISER IN HONOR OF SLAIN POLICE OFFICER
The owners of the Original Roadhouse Grill restaurant chain announced today that they will host a day-long fundraiser at the company’s Riverside, California restaurant in honor of the local Riverside police officer Ryan Bonaminio who was killed a couple of weeks ago in the line of duty.
Bari Management, Inc. will donate 100% of the proceeds generated at the Riverside restaurant on Friday, December 3rd to the family of Officer Bonaminio and the Riverside Police Officers' Assoc. "Officer and Family Assistance Fund." Officer Bonaminio was killed in the line of duty on the night of November 7, 2010.
Officer Bonaminio was only 28 years old and had served as a military policeman in the U.S. Army for four years, serving two tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also served with the Riverside Police Department for four years and is survived by his parents, brother and sister.
“This courageous young man dedicated his life to preserving the safety of the residents of his community, and his nation, and made the ultimate sacrifice,” said Ralph Cimmarusti, who along with his brother Larry founded the company more than 35 years ago and continue to operate it today. “We want to honor this hero and encourage other local restaurants and businesses to match the funds we raise on December 3rd.”
Fundraisers such as this have become an unfortunate tradition over the past 15 years for Bari, which owns and operates 52 Burger King Restaurants in addition to the 14-store Original Roadhouse Grill concept. “In 2008, we donated the entire day’s proceeds from one of our Burger King’s in Los Angeles to the family of LAPD SWAT officer Randal Simmons, who was tragically killed in the line of duty,” Larry Cimmarusti said. “Thanks to the overwhelming support and generosity of so many people, we were able to raise more than $100,000 for the family of Officer Simmons. We also raised over $30,000 for the families of four fallen police officers of the Seattle Police Department in 2009 at our Original Roadhouse Grill location in Everett, WA."
The Riverside Original Roadhouse Grill, located at 3838 Tyler St., will open its doors at 10:30 a.m. on December 3rd and will remain open until 11:00 p.m. “We look forward to a memorable and bittersweet day celebrating and remembering this brave officer and generating a substantial amount for the family members that are left behind.” Ralph Cimmarusti said.
