More than 4,000 people have read this post during the past 24 hours. I have also received several notes, letters and comments about this news. If Mr. Hubbard, or his legal representatives would like to post a statement, I will be more than glad to do so.

Again, I want to remind everyone, that Mr. Hubbard is presumed "INNOCENT" and he will have his day in court. Lets allow the legal process to work...one day at a time.

I wanted to post this official notice from the Los Angeles Police Department. If you think that a member of your family, or if you have been a victim of Mr. Mark Stephen Hubbard, a high school teacher at Hillcrest Christian High School in Granada Hills, please call the LAPD at 818-832-0979 or 818-832-0978. Remember, everyone is "innocent" until proven guilty in a court of law.
Los Angeles: Los Angeles Police Department’s (LAPD), Devonshire Area, Sexual Assault Unit detectives have arrested 51-year-old Mark Stephen Hubbard, a high school teacher, for sex crimes against an underage student. Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet reported being victimized by Hubbard, and they are hoping any additional victims will come forward.
On November 21, 2010, Devonshire detectives became aware of allegations of an ongoing sexual relationship between a high school student and the suspect. On the same date, Hubbard was arrested and booked for multiple sex crime charges. He is currently released from jail after posting $100,000 bail. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
Hubbard was employed at Hillcrerst Christian School in Granada Hills for eight years and served as a health teacher, athletic director and assistant coach for boys basketball/baseball teams.

I go to Hillcrest Christian School. I am going to keep my opinions to myself. You ARE correct. Everyone is "innocent" until proven guilty.

Yes. I think he is out on bail. I live near the school. Everyone in my community is upset about this news.
I am NOT surprised. Don't let your children go to small "religious" schools like these. Lots of problems all over Los Angeles County...and also in the Inland Empire where I reside.
Do not be so quick to judge "religious" schools or this man, especially. How would you feel if he was proven not guilty? What if this turns out to false allegations? Some young teenager trying to cover her butt for something else she did? You don't know what the situation is and I suggest you keep your two sense out of this until all the facts are known. I will not believe he did it until the words come out of his mouth.

He is innocent untill proven Guilty.You have no right to talk about him or the school like that. Privite Schools are better than Public and let me tell you this that School is like a family we stick together and no matter what He is an amazing Man that was there for many years. whether he did it or not(innocent until proven guilty), its an alleged 1 year relationship. it doesnt say he went around molesting all the kids in the skool. IF it is true, the student was obviously ok with it for 10 months. and it says he was ACCUSED of this, not that he was found guilty of these accusations. none of you know whats really going on or have details of it so you have no right to say anything about it.
People are screwd up everywhere. Christian school or not. I actually know the man and his family. This will not only ruin his life, but his families and Hillcrest Christian. Not a light hearted matter - not to be taken lightly. Bottom line, this is very sad.

OK EVERYONE JUST STOP FOR A MOMENT. We know the people involved. I could say things about the accuser but I won't in this forum. I guess anything is possible and IF hard evidence exists - then let him pay for the crime, but TAKE HEED in this particular situation: IT IS HIGHLY PROBABLE that Mark Hubbard is innocent. I wish I could say more about WHY I believe that - but I can't now. I know the truth will come out. If it doesn't - then God help our justice system. Some of you on this blog seem elated that a Christian man might be guilty of some sex crime. You are the bigots in this world.

Amen Rtist. I hope the judicial system gets it right, whatever the outcome. All I can say is that I have known Mark for almost 25 years, and I cannot wrap my head around these allegations against him. A lot of the reason I am even still breathing right now was because of him being a good friend, and caring.

Most of the time he was just a listening ear, but for most that was enough. I know that I would not have made it through had he not been there to tell me to hang in there. I also think that this could possibly be a student trying to cover up a mess she got herself into.

I graduated from that school, and had him as a teacher, as well as new him pretty well.
I really don't think he did it. Again, it says he was ACCUSED. This means that it hasn't been proven that he even did those things.

He was always a good guy when I was around him, maybe not the best teacher, but a good person for sure.
His career is dead, the school removed him from the website and he was fired. The pedophile is gone.
yes, ultimately, he is responsible for his actions... but does the student not also have some culpability here? a High School student has to be at least PARTIALLY responsible for their own actions...
also, the alleged incidents have occured not for a year, but since the beginning of this school year in Sept., I believe.

Hillcrest is a good skool. I went to Hillcrest and got teeched good too. It dusnt matter wat teechers do there but i got a good educasion so dont blame the skool.
