Newport Beach, CA

Horrific news out of the OC tonight. At least three people have been killed when their private plane crashed in the water at the Newport Beach "Back Bay."

Here are some of the details that are coming in from different news agencies and law enforcement groups.
  • The plane was apparently on the way from Mexico to the nearby Torrance Municipal Airport when something went terribly wrong.
  • The plane ended upside down water shallow water of the Back Bay.
If you are a resident of this area, you know how amazing and beautiful this area of Orange County is during this time of year.  The FAA and NTSB are on the scene.

If you LIVE near this crash, and have any additional information or photos, or video, please feel free to share it with my readers.

You can hit my comment section below, or email me at RREconomy@aol.com.  As soon as the names of the victims are officially released, I will post them here on my blog. I don't want to speculate on the names of those lost.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Randy, I understand that the plane was registered to a popular real estate executive from Palos Verdes area. I worked with him back in the 1970's.

Thanks for not publishing the name of the victim until it is officially released by the Coroner in Orange County.

This is a tremendous loss for those who knew him.
