LOS ANGELES --

Someone needs to be held accountable in the County of Los Angeles for allowing another massive drug rave party that took place on taxpayer owned property next to the Los Angeles Coliseum.

The 13th annual Halloween Monster Massive musical festival at L.A.'s Sports Arena was billed as "America's largest Halloween dance party."

It took place last night at Exposition Park. Yep, we "the people" own Exposition Park.  It is under the jurisdiction of the County of Los Angeles.  You and I pay for the upkeep and own the land that this "privately held" rave party took place last night.

Here are the numbers of the event:

  • 16,000 people attended the event, and you had to prove that you were 18 to get past the many guards.
  • 40 were arrested during the rave, mostly for minor offenses.37 people received medical treatment during the rave festival.
  • 16 people were taken to the hospital, most due to drugs and alcohol.
  • 150 people climbed a fence and tried to get into the concert without tickets.

The last rave held on this same property two months ago resulted in the arrest of 80 people and three were taken to hospitals with drug overdoses.

Someone on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors needs to start taking responsibility for allowing these drug raves to take place...period.

Time to start following the money....

I heard someone got killed on the 110 Freeway who attended this rave party. Can you confirm this?

Ban the Raves said...

We need a state law that bans these rave parties to take place in government owned facilities. Period. I wonder what Assemblyman would have the balls to sponsor such a bill?

You are wrong. Having these parties out in the open, with police force, EMT's on site, and security to check as you enter is the best thing for this scene. You say to end these parties, ban them. By doing that, you are sending this music culture into the underground. They will party in abandoned houses, warehouses, street allies, where there is no security to check for weapons, no police or EMT'so n site too help injured people or control fights. You are sending these people into more danger and they will do it, in order to keep their scene alive.
