Thousand Oaks, CA

That brush fire off of Hampshire Road and the 101 Freeway near an industrial complex, including a popular gym and a light industrial area, is still burning near Highway 101 in Thousand Oaks.

The Ventura County Fire Department has sent a full brush response including fire engines, copters and dozers.

More than 100 firefighters are now on scene or in route. The fire is now between 15-20 acres, spreading slowly in light to medium brush.

An active air attack is underway and additional helicopters have been ordered.

Structure protection is in place and hand crews and dozers are making good progress cutting a line around the fire.   It is located across the freeway from the popular Thousand Oaks Center for the Performing Arts.

Temps are up to 108 right now in da' Oaks.
