PASTOR LEONEL PELAYO: Arraignment set for later this month on charges of sexual assault on a 14-year old. Faces FOUR years in jail

Pastror Leonel Pelayo is in a heap of trouble today, and could be facing up to four years in jail.

Pelayo pastor of Iglesia Apostolica Monte de Horeb a South Los Angeles church was arrested and will be raigned later this month on charges that he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl, the District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday.

Deputy District Attorney Martha Carrillo of the Sex Crimes Division outlined the charges against the 45-year old Pelayo

Six felony counts including lewd act upon a child and unlawful sexual intercourse.
Pelayo posted a $140,000 bail.
Pelayo will to appear on Sept. 30 in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center.
He is charged in case No. BA375589, filed for warrant on Sept. 7.
The alleged crimes involve one victim and took place between July 1 and Aug. 20, according to the complaint.

Pelayo is accused of engaging in a sexual relationship with the victim.

The girl is a member of his congregation. If convicted as charged, he faces a maximum prison term of four years, four months.
