9 p.m.

Anaheim, CA

Today was a historic day in Arizona and for the United States of America, and I found myself right in the middle of the loud conversation about Immigrant Rights and American Rights and a new law that everyone is talking about tonight.

and Sheriff Joe Apraio in The OC at the John and Ken Show!
For the first time in our nation's history, a state (Arizona) has enacted new immigration law, one considered the toughest ever.

Despite explicit criticism from President Barack Obama, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed into law this afternoon at 1:50 p.m. a bill supporters said would assist police in dealing with the out of control illegal immigration problem facing the United States.

A large crowd gathered outside the state Capitol in Arizona today protesting the bill. Several hundred miles away in conservative Orange County, CA (The OC) hundreds of vocal and thrilled supporters of the new law were rejoicing and celebrating.

KFI Talk Radio Hosts John Kobylt and Ken Champiou (aka: John and Ken) hosted more than 1,000 vocal, screaming, loud and passionate supporters of the new Arizona law at the Ayre's Hotel in Anaheim today from 1 to 7 p.m.

America's Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Maricopa County, AZ was on hand to take a "victory lap" over the landmark bill was signed just blocks from Disneyland, "The Happiest Place On Earth."

Sheriff Arpaio is a rock star. Yep. A real life American icon. Regardless of where you stand on immigration, the Sheriff carries a huge stick and isn't afraid to swing it around.

Today, I was with Art Olivier, who is a candidate for State Assembly in California's 50th District. I have been working hard with Art for the past couple of months as his campaign advisor and to help him reform California's out of control-multi-billion-dollar-annual pension system.  (I will be telling you more about Art's amazing campaign over the next five weeks, so get ready).

Today, Art and I took a couple of hours from the door to door grassroots campaign in Bellflower/ Downey and South Gate community to be part of this national conversation....up front...and center....literally.

Art and I were seated in the 3rd row in a cramped narrow ball room during the national radio cast today.

Hundreds of people were lined up outside, and hundreds, if not thousands more were driving around the parking lot in search of a rare slot to slip into.

This was a historic day.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is passionate about stopping illegal immigration in his state and in America.

His tactics as a Sheriff are legendary.  Joe Sheriff has been known to make his male inmates wear pink underwear, has taken away their fancy daily meals for no-frills green baloney sandwiches, and makes them work on chain gangs along the highways picking up trash.

The Arizona law signed today makes it a crime to be in their state illegally.

It also requires local police officers to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are illegal immigrants and allows lawsuits against government agencies that hinder enforcement of immigration laws and it also makes it illegal to hire illegal immigrants for day labor or knowingly transport them.

Could this law ever be enacted here in the melding pot of California?

That is a conversation that we could be having at our ballot box if these vocal advocates get their way.

I love John and Ken.  They are passionate about their lives and our lives.  Regardless of what they stand for they make all of us "THINK" hard, day in and day out.

Thanks Ken.  Thanks John.

We're listening, and so is America, and thanks for another unforgetable afternoon!
