Bogus Brother of Former President of Mexico Vicente Fox Pleads Guilty in Securities Fraud. Heads to the slammer for 7 years!

LOS ANGELES – I have totally loved following this bizarre creepy criminal case.

Tonight justice has been served.

A man falsely claiming to be the brother of former Mexican President Vicente Fox was sentenced on Tuesday to seven years in state prison after pleading guilty in a securities scam case, the District Attorney’s office announced.

Deputy District Attorney Reid Rose in the Major Fraud Division said Alfredo Trujillo Fox, 67, pleaded guilty to two counts of grand theft, two counts of fraudulent sale of securities and one count of tax evasion.

After entering his plea, he was immediately sentenced by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Horwitz to seven years state prison and ordered to pay $460,000 in restitution to all seven victims. He also was ordered to pay $117,000 to the state Franchise Tax Board.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation in June 2008 into allegations that Fox, who was unlicensed, offered bogus investment opportunities to individuals between March 2006 and August 2007. He allegedly promised victims unrealistically high returns on investments and accepted investment funds for non-existent projects.

The alleged phony projects included land purchases in Los Angeles and Mexico, short-term loans to his company, Xanadu Mexico International, and a cell-phone venture capital project.

In exchange for his plea, the remaining counts were dismissed. So, the next time someone tells you he is the brother of some big shot President from a country South of the Boarder...call Steve Cooley's Office....odds are he is a big fat liar.....
