It has been nearly 3 weeks since the tragic murder of El Monte School Board Member Augustin Roberto "Bobby" Salcedo took place.

The educator who was a vice prinicpal, a teacher and El Monte School Board Member was abducted and killed in Mexico just before New Year's along with 5 other men.

As of today, authorities in Mexico are still contining to investigate the execution-style slaying but they have produced few answers as to who gunned down Salcedo and the others.

Since the slaying, officials have concluded that Salcedo, 33, and the other victims he was with in Gomez Palacio, Mexico had NO TIES to drug cartels, according to reports in local media.

Rep. Judy Chu, who was elected to Congress in a Special Election last year to replace former Rep. Hilda Solis (now Labor Secretary) continues to push U.S. and Mexican authorities to find the assailants.

But Salcedo's family isn't optimistic.

"I've come to the realization that we are never going to find the people responsible for this," Bobby's brother Juan said Friday in an article in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

The Salcedo Family deserves justice.
