Alexandra Tang, 24, Identified as victim in stabbing that has resulted in the arrest of Derek Pinski in Laguna Hills

LAGUNA HILLS, California (September 2, 2012) – On Saturday, September 1, 2012, at about 11:15 AM, Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputies and the Orange County Fire Authority were dispatched to a residence in the 22000 block of Caminito Tasquillo in Laguna Hills. Authorities arrived to find the homeowner doing CPR on a female adult. Paramedics took over first aid, but the victim was eventually declared “deceased” at the scene. The victim has been identified as Alexandra Tang, 24 years old, from Santa Barbara, California. Tang was stabbed to death inside the residence where she was found. Orange County Sheriff’s investigators, with assistance from the Mesa Police Department in Arizona, have arrested 25 year-old Derek Pinski for the murder of Tang. Pinski is a resident of Laguna Hills and the boyfriend of Alexandra Tang. Sheriff’s homicide investigators are in Arizona conducting interviews and collecting evidence to yesterday’s crime. Pinski will be extradited back to Orange County, where he will eventually be charged for the murder of Alexandra Tang.
