Norwalk Sheriff’s Watch Commander Bill Evans told Los Cerritos Community News that law enforcement responded to the location, near the intersection of Leibacher Avenue and Excelsior Drive at around 8:30 p.m. and found one man suffering from “several stab wounds.”
After interviewing local residents in the area, it was determined that the suspect fled on foot and was last seen in the immediate area. Evan’s said that the suspect is Francisco Javier Franco, a male Hispanic, who is 32 years of age.
The stabbing victim was rushed to an area hospital and is listed in “very critical condition.” “It appears that the victim is going to pull through,” said Evans.
Suspect Franco is considered to be “dangerous.” Evans urged that anyone with information about the whereabouts of Franco should immediately contact Norwalk Sheriff’s Department at (562) 863-8711. Franco is described as being 5’9, 175 pounds with green eyes and black hair.
Evans said that the relationship between the suspect Franco and the victim is not known at this time and that an active investigation and search has been launched in the area.
