One
man is in critical condition after being stabbed several times Monday night in
an altercation at the 14700 block of Leibacher Avenue in Norwalk.

Sheriff’s Watch Commander Bill Evans told Los Cerritos Community News that law
enforcement responded to the location, near the intersection of Leibacher
Avenue and Excelsior Drive at around 8:30 p.m. and found one man suffering from
“several stab wounds.”
After
interviewing local residents in the area, it was determined that the suspect
fled on foot and was last seen in the immediate area. Evan’s said that the suspect is Francisco
Javier Franco, a male Hispanic, who is 32 years of age.
The
stabbing victim was rushed to an area hospital and is listed in “very critical
condition.” “It appears that the victim
is going to pull through,” said Evans.
Suspect
Franco is considered to be “dangerous.”
Evans urged that anyone with information about the whereabouts of Franco
should immediately contact Norwalk Sheriff’s Department at (562) 863-8711.
Franco is described as being 5’9, 175 pounds with green eyes and black hair.
Evans
said that the relationship between the suspect Franco and the victim is not known
at this time and that an active investigation and search has been launched in
the area.
