A car thief in La Mirada is about to get the surprise of his or her lifetime.
The cremated remains of a dead Oregon woman that was encased in an urn has been stolen after the victim parked her 2005 Ford Taurus in a La Mirada grocery store parking lot.
According to Cpt. Pat Maxwell, of the Norwalk Sheriff's Station, on Thursday at approximately 6:00 p.m., Debra Ann McLean, a resident of Oregon had parked her four doors, foam green 2005 Ford Taurus (Oregon license plate 717CQL) at the Stater Bros. Supermarket parking lot located at 12800 La Mirada Boulevard.
In the backseat of the vehicle were the cremated remains of the victim’s Mother, in a white box, and now the search begins for both the vehicle and the cremated remains.
According to Maxwell, the vehicle was stolen by an unknown suspect, and that law enforcement needs help locating the suspect.
