It was all screams and cheers for the newest and hottest trio in music on Friday as “ResQ3” made an appearance at Benton Middle School in La Mirada.
The three man group headed by Romeo Miller (aka: Lil Romeo) along with Christian Brock and Miles E. decided to visit the popular middle school that emphasizes education in the performing arts.
Romeo told Los Cerritos Community News that they were at the campus because “they love these kids” and to “emphasis the importance of a good education, and to make the most of your lives.”
The trio visited with the staff at Benton shortly before noon, practiced their first single “The Only One” in Principal Michelle Green’s office and then emerged on to the quad with adoring students holding signs, and screaming at the top of their lungs.
Romeo, a successful Grammy Award winning artist who has sold more than 10 million records in his career, including a recent stint on Dancing With the Stars, said he “just loves making music,” and that “this is the time of the year to give back and to give thanks and praise, and to count our blessings.”
Band mates Brock and Miles E. brought along a guitar and bongo drums and held a jam session in the quad before the nearly 400 students in attendance. The two actually are from nearby Thousand Oaks and told LCCN that they are “living their dream” and are “having a total blast.”
