Missing Saddleback College Professor Amy Ahearn has been found alive in South Central Los Angeles, Los Cerritos Community News has learned exclusively. Ahearn was located late Friday night at around 10 p.m. off of 85th Street in South Central Los Angeles. She was located by members of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Ahearn was taken to an area hospital where she is being evaluated.
Investigator Kathy Allen, who has been spearing the search efforts on behalf of the Ahearn Family, said that it is "a miracle that Amy was located, safely."
Ahearn, an English Professor at Saddleback College went missing on August 22 when she was seen near a law office near the Norwalk Civic Center.
The popular instructor has been the subject of a major search effort from both the Orange County Sheriff's Department and Los Angeles County Sheriff's as well. A Missing Person Bulletin was issued through the tow counties in early September.
Ahearn was briefly found sitting in front the home of Ana Ruvalcaba at around midnight on September 18 at the 11900 block of Ferina Street in Norwalk.

Amy Ahearn, the missing Saddleback College professor, who was last seen near the Norwalk Civic Center on August 17, was taken in by a Norwalk family on September 18, Los Cerritos Community News has confirmed.
Ahearn, who has been diagnosed with the marker that leads to Huntington's disease, was found sitting in front the home of Ana Ruvalcaba at around midnight on September 18 at the 11900 block of Ferina Street in Norwalk.
Ruvalcaba, 26, a lifelong resident of Norwalk and a mother of a four year old told LCCN that she and family members took Ahearn into her home "in the middle of the night" in mid-September after Ahearn told them that she was "waiting for a ride from a friend."
While inside the Ruvalcaba's home, Ahearn's wallet fell out of the back pack she was carrying, and this is when it was confirmed that the woman was Ahearn according to her driver’s license.
Ruvalcaba even took a picture of Ahearn with her cell phone and Los Cerritos Community News has obtained the photo. In the photo Ahearn is seen with a blanket around her lap.
Several law enforcement agencies, including the Orange County and Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department have been searching for Ahearn since she went missing this past summer.
Ruvalcaba said that from 2 to 6 a.m. Ahearn agreed to come inside their family home to "get out of the cold air" and gave Ahearn coffee.
After the sun rose on September 18, Ruvalcaba drove Ahearn to a local Motel 6 on Rosecrans Avenue in Norwalk so Ahearn could get a "place to stay." While waiting for a room to become available at the motel, Ahearn apparently wandered off to a nearby Carrow's Restaurant parking lot and that is where Ruvalcaba said last saw Ahearn.
Rubalcava said that she and some of her family members even had Ahearn call a "Helpline Hotline" so she could get some assistance, and the Helpline told them that there was "little they could do" on the matter.
Then, two weeks later on October 1, Rubalcava's aunt Maria Maldonado, spotted Ahearn near the Northgate Market at Firestone and Pioneer who was carrying the "same back pack" and "wearing the same clothes" from the night she was last seen on September 18.
Marjorie Ahearn, Amy’s sister who lives outside of Chicago told LCCN that she is “beyond disbelief” that her ailing missing sister was actually found, and at someone’s home, and is now “missing again.”
“How could this happen?” Marjorie Ahearn said on Thursday morning. Sources also tell LCCN that Ahearn also appeared to be carrying a "cardboard box" along with her.
Ahean has not been spotted since then.
Ahearn is a female Caucasian who stands 5,6", 140 lbs. who has brown hair and brown eyes and who may be wearing eye glasses. Ahearn had recently lost a large amount of weight.
LCCN has learned that Ahern is at the tail end of having a divorce finalized.
Sources tell LCCN that Ahearn has never been in trouble with the law, and she has left in the past for short periods of time, but never at this length. Ahearn parents died tragically in a house fire a few years ago.

I go to Saddleback College and Professor Ahearn is very well loved, even though she has been displaying "erratic" behavior for the past year or so. So so HAPPY that she has been FOUND alive. What an incredible story. Thanks for the DETAILS.
