GEORGE SOSA: Funeral services for murdered Norwalk High School student set for Friday, Saturday

Funeral services for slain Norwalk High School student George Sosa will be held on Friday and Saturday, and the investigation into the 16 year olds murder continues by law enforcement.

Sosa, 16, a popular student from Norwalk High died last Friday after being stabbed several times as he walked home from the campus with a group of friends along a tree lined street along Harvest Avenue, on his way home from school.

A viewing will take place on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rachel’s Funeral Home located 5708 S. Broadway in Los Angeles.

A Catholic Funeral Mass and Burial will commence beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday at St. Columbille Catholic Church located at 6315 South Main Street also in Los Angeles. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City at 5835 West Slauson Avenue.

Donation boxes for the family have been placed at the Norwalk High School Front Office.

One suspect, also a minor, was questioned and was placed under arrest just hours after the grizzly crime took place.

Another Norwalk High School student, who was apparently walking home with Sosa, was also stabbed in the altercation. His name has not been made public, but Los Cerritos Community News has been told by several sources that he sustained serious stab wounds.
