BIG RIG SLAMS INTO HOME IN EAST LAKEWOOD/HAWAIIAN GARDENS on CENTRALIA ROAD. ONE RUSHED TO HOSPITAL

East Lakewood/Hawaiian Gardens, CA

A big rig slammed into a home located at 11709 Centrailia Avenue here in a residential neighborhood around 20 minutes ago. According to Lakewood Sheriff's Sgt. Christopher Neeper, at least one person that was located inside the home has been injured and rushed to an area hospital.

Neeper told Los Cerritos Community News that traffic in the area is being diverted and that all people are urged to stay out of the immediate location where the crash took place.

Neeper said the extent of the injuries of those at the scene appear to be "minor" but would not elaborate on details at this time. It appears that the 18-wheeler lost control and smashed into at least one residence and that fuel has leaked from the big rig.
