Remembering Jeffrey Dempsey |

Tonight, the Cerritos City Council adjourned its meeting in the memory of Jeffrey Dempsey, Jr., 21, who died before the July 4th holiday from possible injuries he sustained in a skateboarding accident.
Cerritos City Councilman Mark Pulido remembered the former Gahr High School wrestling captain standout tonight as being a "tremendous athlete" and "great young man" who was just at the start of his adult life. Mark is survived by his father, Jeffery Dempsey, mother Anitra Dempsey, sister Ashley Dempsey, aunts Alicia Brown and Anita Mateo, uncle Gregory Dempsey, grandparents Harry Manchester and Patricia Dempsey, nephew Jeremiah Dempsey-Frost and numerous cousins. Memorial Services will be held on Friday (today) at 10 a.m. at Calvary Chapel in Downey at 12808 Woodruff Avenue in Downey. More next week in the Los Cerritos Community News.
