Long Beach, CA

It is one of the most raw, uplifting and real portrayals of high school life in America. Its not Glee. Its not "Real World on MTV."  It is "4th and Forever," and it is real story about the Long Beach Poly High School Football team, from the inside.

Legendary. Poly is one of the best high school athletic teams in America, year in and year out.  Current TV has captured the heart and soul of this "inner city school" with this "real life" documentary series. "4th and Forever" focuses on some of the 2010 "key players" on the Long Beach Poly Varsity Football Team.

The Jackrabbits has one of the best head coaches in America in Raul Lara.
Coach Lara has become an "institution" at Poly, and one incredible man, both on and off the field.

Lara is portrayed as a coach, a father figure, a friend, role model and leader of a Poly High School. Dabness Atkins, Jeremiah Hollowell, Chaiyse Hales, Emmanuel Lara, and Devin Jackson are all prepared to earn their glory during this series of "real-ity" life.  "Let it all go, that's Poly Football" is a theme repeated over and over again.

"4th and Forever"" chronicles the 2010 football season of Long Beach Polytechnic High School...you know...the same Poly that was touted by Sports Illustrated as the "Sports School of the Century." No pressure.  Poly boasts the largest roster of high school players who have gone on to the NFL. After decades of success, Poly had a down year in 2009. They had their worst season in 15 years and lost to local rival Lakewood for the first time in over 25 years.   I followed that season.  WE ALL FOLLOWED that SEASON here in Southern California. If you live in Iowa, do yourself a favor, stay TUNED INTO this SERIES!

Scenario:
After years of being pegged as "the team to beat," the aura of invincibility is gone. The players are worried that their hopes for a college scholarship have dimmed. The clock is ticking and the question is: Can Head Football Coach Raul Lara pull the team together for one more season of greatness? And, can the players avoid the temptations of the street, succeed in the classroom, and emerge victorious on the field?
Don't waste your time on "Real Housewives."  Dedicate some real time to watch these "real life local students" right here in our community.  This is an incredible documentary. SEEN: Thursdays at 9/8c for all-new episodes of "4th and Forever."
