Fantastic news.  I just heard that Ruben Vives from the Los Angeles Times has been awarded the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for his coverage on the scandal over at Bell City Hall!

Wait a minute.  I predicted this would happen MONTHS ago.

Here is a news flash announcing the award:

:The Los Angeles Times won the Pulitzer Prize for public service today for stories uncovering shocking financial corruption in the city of Bell, whose officials secretly enriched themselves with extravagant salaries and benefits.  The stories, by reporters Jeff Gottlieb, Ruben Vives and other Times staff writers, led to criminal charges against former Bell City Administrator Robert Rizzo, who, with his $800,000 salary, became the face of the scandal. Rizzo and seven other current or former city officials were charged with multiple felonies and have been ordered to stand trial."

Today is my first "official" day as a Staff Reporter for the Los Cerritos Community News Group.  Ruben, your a role model for me and many other Journalists here in "the Hood!"

W2G!
