Sylmar, CA

An upscale enclave in Sylmar, California was the scene of a wild 18 hour ordeal that resulted in a the death of a suspect accused of "domestic violence," the shooting of a well respected and longtime Los Angeles Police Department officer, and the bulldozing of a very pricey two story residence.

The suspect, Sergio O. Salazar, listed as 53 years of ago, apparently began a domestic dispute against his wife and when members of the Los Angeles Police Department arrived, Salazar was barricaded inside the large salmon colored two story residence.

Praying for Officer Jenkins tonight!  Hang in there!
The LAPD had to literally bring out a "bulldozer" and knocked down parts of the home in order to get Salazar.   During the operation, an exchange of gun fire broke out that resulted in the shooting of longtime Officer Steven Jenkins.

Jenkins is lucky to be alive tonight.  He was rushed to an area hospital where he has already undergone  surgery to deal with two bullet wounds, one landing in his face and the other in his upper body.

The above coverage is from two of the best television news teams in Los AngelesNBC LA, and  KTLA.  For my readers in Europe, Africa, South America and on the East Coast, this was the TOP news story of the day here in Southern California.  Lots of "live coverage" throughout this day long ordeal.

I always wonder what goes through the minds of people who think that they can get into a shooting match with members of the Los Angeles Police Department or the LA County Sheriff's Department.

...praying for both officer Jenkins, and for his his family, and for the victims including the wife of the shooter.  Domestic violence is one of the biggest taboos in our society.  Share your thoughts in my comment section.
