Barry Bonds got lucky today, sort of.

He didn't totally strike out and he didn't hit a home run in this criminal trail regarding his possible use of illegal steroids, and other "performance enhancing drugs."

The ubber home-run champ, was convicted on one felony charge of obstruction of justice by a federal jury in San Francisco. The three week trial, and months upon months of "legalize" has cost us taxpayers untold millions, and cast a huge shadow on our national pasttime.  The jury was deadlocked on three other felony counts.

Bonds, now 46, could still be ssentenced to two years in prison.  Trust me, in my opinion Barry Bonds will not spend one day in the "Pen."  How about "house arrest" or wearing one of those fancy "ankle bracelets" for a number of months?

The US Federal government threw everything including spit balls at Bonds in this so called "criminal case."  How long has this case been going in the headline.  Try, ah, back to 2003, and even earlier with "rumors."

He was painted day after day and month after month for the past few years as a "druggie" and "doper" and "juicer."

Tonight, Barry Bonds has ended one of the longest "games" in this legal life.

He is going to fight the one conviction, so this matter will be heading into "extra innings" and you and I as taxpayers will continue to "pop" for the legal costs.

Bonds faced the media with his attorneys just around an hour ago.
