SOMALI PIRATES KILL JEAN and SCOTT ADAM and PHYLLIS MacKay and BOB RIGGLE: My hearts go out to these Brave souls who were doing "God's Work" around the world aboard their beloved "QUEST."

One of the final notes posted on their website www.svquest.com back in December 20th 2010, Jean and Scott Adam left this note to their more than 550,000 blog readers....

"Djibouti is a big refueling stop. I have NO idea what will happen in these ports, but perhaps we'll do some local touring. Due north is the Red Sea where we plan to tuck in when winds turn to the north.

"Above are our trip plans for 2011 - or at least part of them. Do you see how you're looking from one side of the globe (Phuket) to the other? (The Red Sea and the Med?) Well, that's because the distance is long! We plan to join the Blue Water Rally which is an organized rally for yachts that wish to travel around the world in two years. A yacht can join the group for various sections. We are joining the OZ-Med section of the rally that has started in Australia and will go to the Mediterranean. Our ports of call will be: Galle, Sri Lanka; Cochin, India; Salalah, Oman; Djibouti, Djibouti; The Suez Canal; and Crete. That gets us to April. Then we plan to go to Turkey and London, England. Each in its own time!

Obviously all the maps on this page are compliments of Google Earth. You can download the Google Earth software and look at these exact locations. THEN, you can click on the little blue squares and see photographs of the locations where we'll be. Also, you can zoom in or out to get oriented. There are also cameras that can give you a street level view of these various locations - HAVE FUN!"

I just heard the tragic news about the murders of Jean and Scott Adam and their companions Phylliss McKay and Bob Riggle aboard their yatch named "Quest" off of Somali by Pirates.

The story of these brave four people have captured the hearts and minds of many here in Southern California for more than two months now.

Today, sadly, pirates have killed the four hostages after a brief gun battle with "Special Forces" units who tired in vain to rescue them.

According to media reports just coming in, Central Command said it believed 19 pirates were involved in capturing the Quest.
Four ships had been shadowing the Quest were the carrier Enterprise, guided missile cruiser Leyte Gulf, and guided missile destroyers Sterett and Bulkeley. The four were in the region to support anti-piracy efforts and missions involving the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to the Central Command.

These four amazing brave people were doing "God's Work."  Their only mission was to distribute Bibles around the world.  I had been following their journey on and off for the past several months on their website.

Today, that website is silent.

We all need to pause and reflect on these four amazing, brave and inspirational people of Faith.  Their mission was to spread a positive message of love and hope around the world.

Makes me wonder about the evil in the world around us.
