Horray for this amazing morning of wonderment in Tinsel Town USA!
The 83rd Academy Award Nominations are just hours and minutes away from being revealed at approximately 5:45 a.m. Pacific Time.
The front runners to pick up a slew of awards are the critically acclaimed remake of "True Grit," "The Social Network" (about the creation of Facebook) and The Fighter, starring the amazing Mark Walburg. Also look for tons of recognition for the "Kings Speech" and for several of their cast members.
I love this morning. I make sure that I am up before the crack of dawn to watch the nominees being announced from the historical Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Hollywood. It is nervous time in Hollywood. Lots of anxious, over rated and over paid celebs are hoping to here their name called for a nomination.
This year their are 248 movies eligible to be nominated for the Oscar in just 24 categories. Their are also 66 foreign films being considered. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has only 5,755 voting members.
Last year nearly 42 million American households tuned into the Oscars. It is estimated that several hundreds of millions of people all over the world watched last years show.
During the past 82 years a total of 2,768 golden statuettes have been doled out to honor the best of the best in the history of the Academy.
Image via CrunchBaseThe height of Oscar statuette is just 13½ inches, and it has a diameter of a base of just 5¼ inches, and Oscar weights around 8½ pounds.

But being nominated for can turn a lackluster career into a "priceless" moment. Stay tuned for a complete list of the nominees as soon as they are announced!
