Commerce, CA

Law enforcement officials are conducting an intense investigation into that horrific AMTRAK accident last night that killed three men in Commerce.  It was originally reported that two died.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Michael Thomas told local news agencies that there was "a lot of noise" and the men probably never heard the passenger train coming.  It was the Amtrak Surfliner that was involved. The train was heading to the Downtown Los Angeles train station from San Diego.  It was delayed almost five hours according to records I obtained from AMTRAK officials.

The victims may be "day labor workers" who live in the area.  The three were believed to have been in their 20s.  As soon as the names of the victims are released, I will be posting them here on the blog.
