WEST HOLLYWOOD  --

A horrific scene played out on the festive and famed Sunset Strip last night.

One party goer is dead, after being run over by a driver in a very expensive charcoal gray Bentley.

This morning law enforcement authorities are searching for the hit-and-run driver, and they are wanting the public's help in finding that person responsible.

A 21-year-old woman died along the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood. Witnesses say the woman had just left a concert at the Roxy when she crossed Sunset Blvd. at Hammond St. around 11:50 p.m. Wednesday with the accident took place.  The woman was in a crosswalk and was thrown more than 50 feet.

Whoever is responsible for this, you need to do the right thing and turn yourself into law enforcement.

If you were in West Hollywood last night and saw this horrific hit and run, please hit my comment section and tell me your thoughts.  The name of the victim has not been released.   My heart goes out to the friends and family of the victim.

I was there last night and witnessed the whole thing. I called 911 before any cops arrived. I saw the poor girl laying in the street. I have been sick to my stomach ever since and don't want to close my eyes. I gave the best description I could to the police. My friend who was with my is a nurse and asked for gloves from anyone so she could go examine but no one had any. It was absolutely a horric evening.

Thanks for posting this. I was in West Hollywood last night, and came outside of one of the clubs to see this horrific scene. People were screaming and whoever did this needs to do the right thing and turn themselves in!

Other than that, something has to be done with the massive traffic on this area during the night.

Crowds, clubs, alcohol and cars are a deadly combination. Someone needs to come up with a solution. The City of West Hollywood needs to stop expanding this area. It is over developed and this will happen again, sadly.

I was there. Does anyone have any information on the name of the woman who got killed? We had to wait more than 7 hours to get our cars out of that neighborhood. I will NOT be going back to this area until the city of West Hollywood does something to make it SAFE. It is out of control. Way too crowded. Way to dangerous. They need to have Deputies actually direct traffic, or eliminate car traffic and make this pedestrian only.

Does anyone know the name of the woman who got killed? Can you leave a note, This seems to be the only blog with details on this crash. I was on Sunset last night and my heart goes out to the family of this young adult who passed away...

Her name was Lauren Freeman, she had just graduated from FDIM, her whole family lives in Maryland and anyone that had ever meet her knew she was something special

I just want them to release the name of the person the car was registared to.

Hollywood.tv posted a video of the woman on the street dead and i encourage everyone to send them messages, asking them to remove that video. it is extremely repulsive and degrading towards the life of this young woman
