Santa Fe Springs, CA -

The recent rash of violence that is occurring at Medical Marijuana dispensaries has happened in Santa Fe Springs, and tonight the community is being asked to help find those involved in this latest violent caper.

Whittier Police Department officials are reporting that an armed robbery took place on Tuesday (August 10, 2010)  at approximately 10:43pm, at a Medical Marijuana dispensary located in the 9800 block of Alburtis Avenue.

Two male suspects posed as customers and when admitted inside the dispensary, robbed the uniformed security guard of his pistol. Both suspects fought the security guard while inside the location.

After being admitted inside, by the security guard, both suspects were locked inside the dispensary and could not exit. At that time one of the suspects fired into the security metal door in an attempt to exit the dispensary.

The gun shot failed to open the locked door. Both suspects threatened the security guard and forced him to unlock the steel security door. While exiting the dispensary, one of the suspects fired several rounds into the floor and the steel security door. Amazingly, no one was injured as a result of the suspects actions.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is urged to call the Whittier Police Department at (562)-945-8250. Additional media inquiries can be directed to Officer Mike Dekowski at (562)-505-6983.
