South El Monte, CA

A "rave party" at a local industrial warehouse in South El Monte turned into a deadly and bloody shootout.

One woman is dead and three others were injured and are in bad shape with multiple gunshot wounds.

Tonight, the community is being asked to help solve this vicious crime.

Here are the details from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department:

At approximately 2:45 Saturday (08/14/2010) morning deputies from Temple Station responded to the 2300 block of Chico Avenue in South El Monte regarding a "shots fired" call. When the deputies arrived at the location, an industrial complex, they found four victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim, identified as Clara Myhung Hee Chun, 26 of nearby San Gabriel, was pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County fire paramedics.

The three wounded were listed as being adult males between the ages of 18 to 30.  There names have not been released, and were transported to an area hospital.  One of them is listed in critical condition and the other two are stable.

The homicide detectives preliminary investigation indicated that the four victims and as many as 30 additional persons were attending a "rave" type party in a portion of the warehouse.

At one point one or more altercations broke out between the attendees. A short time later, shots were fired by two men who then fled the area.

The investigation will most likely continue throughout the day, necessitating the closure of Chico Avenue north of Rush Street, South El Monte.
