BREAKING: Investigation underway after shooting death reported at a South Gate equestrian center

A tragedy unfolded at a remote horse center in South Gate on Wednesday, and the public is being asked to help solve this case....

Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to the Imperial Equestrian Center located on the 5500 block of Leeds Street, South Gate, to assist South Gate Police Department personnel investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 50-year-old man.

Imperial Equestrian Center is a full-service boarding and training facility.  The victim was discovered this morning at around 9:30 a.m., by an employee. The victim was apparently a part time resident at the center. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. There is no more information available at this time.  As soon as his name is released to the media, I will be updating this post....

The property is owned by SCE. No one is suppose to be living on this property.
