Yorba Linda, CA

A quiet upscale Yorba Linda neighborhood is in shock today after the son of a well respected attorney was killed by a law enforcement officer early Wednesday morning.

Jullian Stanley Collendar, 25, (seen here in his Facebook Page) was fatally shot in an "officer-involved" incident, and today his family want answers to why this had to happen.  Collender's father, is noted Orange County Family Law Attorney Richard Collender who told media outlets that police of were responsible for "murdering my son."

---WEDNESDAY'S BROADCAST.

CRIME/EVIDENCE DETAILS BEING GATHERED:

An armed robbery took place at around 8:15 p.m. Tuesday night over at the Mercado Del Rio Shopping Center at La Palma Avenue in Yorba Linda.  Police said one of the victims "apparently" recognized the robbery suspect as Collender.  Police then went to the Collender's home over on the 24000 block of Avenida de Marcia at 12:25 a.m. to investigate the tip.

Collendar, police say, then confronted authorities outside of his residence. An officer then opened fire on Collendar striking him in the chest with a single bullet.   Collendar was transported to a local hospital where he later died, according to Sgt. Bill Smyser of the Brea Police Department.

According to Attorney Collender, his son Julian had been a student at Santiago Canyon College and was planning to become a filmmaker and was planning to transfer to Cal State Fullerton or Cal State Los Angeles.

Since this shooting incident involved a law enforcement officer, the case is now being  investigated by both the Orange County District Attorney's Office and Brea Police Department.

If you witnessed this situation, or have any details whatsoever, you are urged to call  call Detective Phil Rodriguez at (714) 990-7677.  More details as they emerge.

Julian was unarmed, it is widely known throughout Brea and Yorba Linda that the Brea Police Department is systemically a bunch of cowboys who think they run the streets and are the judge, jury and executioner. Yorba Linda should stop contracting with the Brea Police Department. However, the Yorba Linda City Council are racist too! It's sad we let a few uneducated individuals run local government. It's time we all wake up and make a change! God Bless Julian Collender!!!!!!

ALLEGED, CLAIMED, SUSPECTED, REPORTED, ETC. if any of you strangers whose ears soak up the media like a sponge are passionate about what youre writing on here, you would have been at his protest/candle light memorial today. i spoke with any and everyone who wanted to know TRUTH today at the brea pd. he did NOT rob three kids in a shopping center at 8 pm down the street from his house with a gun for some ipods and cash. julian was at the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong people. he was the only recognizable face to the LIARS who made a false police report THREE HOURS after they were allegedly robbed. julian had no criminal record, he GRADUATED from santiago and was just accepted into cal state fullerton. he is a beautiful soul and would have never hurt anyone. what i cannot share on this website, you will hear about soon. the cop who shot my friend needs to MAN UP or he will live in guilt for the rest of his life. julian has no day in court. this cop has a second chance.
