The race for the GOP nomination has foisted a newbie onto the California political spotlight by the narrowest of margin's.
Brian Fitzgerald, who has worked for the California Department of Insurance for over 16 years, enforcing the Insurance Code and regulations against companies and agents, has defeated termed out California State Assemblyman Mike Villines by around 11,000.
But the huge news of this campaign was the fact that Fitzgerald spent less than $5,000 on his ENTIRE CAMPAIGN. Incredible. Beyond WORDS.
Fitzgerald's "skinny win" earns him the GOP Nomination for California State Insurance Commissioner.
Steve Poizner, who lost his bib to become Governor in yesterday's mega million dollar Republican primary is the current Insurance Commish.
Democratic State Assemblyman Dave Jones of Sacramento body slammed local Assemblyman Hector De La Torre to win his Party's nomination. De La Torre spent millions of dollars in television ads here in Southern California during the past 3 weeks.
Jones, is a relative unknown outside the doors of Sacramento politics. This will be a hot race come Fall. Stay Tuned.

Every other politician who ran statewide on election day who had a full ballot pamphlet statement at $25 per word spent more money than Fitz! $25 x 250 word max = $6,250! Go Fitz! A qualified candidate can win in this State!!! That count had better hold up! Villines nomentum vs. Fitz momentum!!!!
