Another Southern California landmark business has fallen victim to the economy and recession.

Ken Crane’s, Southern California’s big screen headquarters for more than six decades, announced Friday that it will close its doors and cease operations within 60 days.

The company plans to liquidate all existing merchandise beginning immediately in its six locations in Torrance, Hawthorne, Encino, Pasadena, West Los Angeles and Westminster.

"It is with great sadness, that we are announcing today that after 62 years of bringing home entertainment to Southern California families, Ken Crane's will be closing their doors. We have faced many storms in 62 years and have been able to weather them all...except the "Great Recession of '07". With no end of this recession in sight, we have made the painful decision to close," said Pam  and Casey Crane in a prepared statement on Friday.

(BTW...I want to give a "shout out" to my dear pal Bob Gold, who is the media rep for Ken Crane's. Bob and I have known each other for MORE than 25 years.  GULP!  Bob sent out the press release today announcing the sad news to the media. Thanks BOB!)

The good news is that EVERYTHING is on SUPER DUPER SALE for the NEXT 60 days.  So, get over to Ken Cranes and buy a big screen television.
