Sacramento, CA

The race for the Republican nomination for State Insurance Commissioner has gotten really really close after additional late ballots have been tallied after last Tuesday's California Primary Election.

The super underfunded Brian Fitzgerald (who bankrolled a huge amount of publicity from the ever popular "John and Ken Show" on KFI Talk Radio still leads heavy favorite Assemblyman Mike Villines by a little more than 5,300 votes out of nearly 1.6 million ballots cast.

Here are the raw totals:

Brian Fitzgerald  780,575 50.2%

Mike Villines      775,206 49.8%
