Joseph Mercado, the man accused,  for that murderous rampage over on Civic Center Drive and Devlin Avenue in Hawaiian Gardens earlier this past week is due in Bellflower Superior Court this Monday, May 10 at 8:30 a.m. where he will be formally arraigned on multiple charges of murder and attempted murder.

Mercado is being held without bail at Twin Tower Correctional Facility in Downtown Los Angeles.

According to booking information I obtained from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Mercado is 26 years old and is listed at 5'6 and weighs 190 pounds.

The time of his arrest was 3:55 a.m. on Thursday, May 6th. in the City of Hawaiian Gardens.

Mercado will be formally charged with the murders of Serena Tarin, age 23, the mother of his child;  Alfredo Tarin Jr., age 21 (brother of Serena), and Alfredo Tarin Sr., the father of Serena and Alfredo.
Lucy Tarin, the wife of Alfredo, remains in very critical condition with multiple gun shot wounds.

I am a personal friend of Joseph and I knew Serena well. I went to Job Corps with both of them and was luck enough to have been in the presence of such a wonderful girl as Serena. I spoke with Joseph days beofre this and never would have ever imagined Joseph (aka Puerto Rico) couls have ever commited such a horrific crime such as this! My prayer goes out to the Tarin family
